DECEMBER 2012

DECEMBER 2012 ATHLETE OF THE MONTH

Name, age, occupation, city? Sarah Rauner, Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Rochester Hills

Start date at CrossFit Reviver? April 2012

Athletic background? High school sports

Favorite and least favorite WOD / movement? Favorite movement is probably the pull up.  Least favorite is double unders.  Favorite WOD was Murph day.  It was right after I started and I was terrified to do it but I finished.  That was a big step for me.

Greatest accomplishment? Finishing my Master’s and passing my NP boards while having and raising two busy boys.   (And dealing with Mr. P on a daily basis!!).

Has CFR made you better?  If so, how? Absolutely!!  I actually like working out now.  Each day is a different workout so there is always a new way for me to challenge myself.  If you told me 6 months ago that I would be able to do a strict pull up and I would run 6 miles I would have told you you’re crazy.   I may have cursed a few times at Coach Vince and Jeremy for making me run 400 meters in the beginning.

What are your hobbies? Reading, travel and hanging out with friends.  Trying to beat Mr. P in WOD’s.

Top 5 favorite movies? The Notebook, Anchor Man, Bridesmaids, Shawshank Redemption, The Princess Bride

What is one thing we don’t know about you? I have a tattoo somewhere people can’t see when I’m working out.

What are your goals in life? To love life every day the good with the bad.  In CFR?  To continue challenging myself in every workout and movement.
