When did you start at Crossfit Reviver? : 09/02/2014
What is your athletic background?: Crossfit is the most Sporty Spice I’ve ever been in my life! I briefly dabbled in running about a year prior to joining CFR. I did a bunch of 5ks, a few 10ks, and a couple half marathons. I quickly learned that I prefer strength training over pounding the cement.
What is your favorite and least favorite WOD / movement?: I love me some squats, deadlifts, and any other movement involving a barbell. I LOVE rowing. I dislike inchworms and anything involving jumping – this body is too sturdy to defy gravitational pull.
What is your greatest accomplishment? Personal, professional and fitness related. : My greatest personal and professional accomplishments are getting a full scholarship for my undergrad and graduating from Wayne State University with my doctorate in physical therapy in 2010. Physical therapy is an exciting field that is always evolving – I am a lifelong learner and will continue to take continuing education courses to advance my skills. My greatest fitness accomplishment is competing with my CFR spirit animal April Terbrack in the Festivus Games in Fall 2016. Up until that competition, I was playing it relatively safe in the gym and didn’t really push myself. Apey taught me that I am a lot stronger than I had led myself to believe (love you, lady!).
Has CFR made you better? If yes, how so? : I definitely feel more confident in myself since joining Reviver. I am much stronger physically and was able to move all of the furniture out of a storage unit and into my current home with only my dad’s help. At work, I can perform manual therapy on my patients without breaking a sweat!
What are your hobbies? : I enjoy wine tasting, cooking, traveling, and spending time with my friends and family.
What are your Top 5 favorite movies? : Step Brothers, Top Secret!, Wet Hot American Summer, Ferris Beuller’s Day Off, Labyrinth
What is one thing we don’t know about you?: I was the person who discovered Booty Bouncers on Pandora. I needed something to meal prep and clean my house to on Sundays and found it to be the perfect soundtrack. You’re welcome? 😛
What are your goals in life? Personal, professional and fitness related. : Personally, I would like to start a family. But maybe I’ll start with a pupper once my work schedule lightens up. 🙂 Professionally, I would like to continue to evolve my skills to provide the best outcomes for my patients. Fitness-wise, I want to continue to grow stronger and become more confident in myself, both physically and mentally.
