Lose 20# By Feb 1st

The easiest 20# to lose by Feb 1st, is the 20# you didn’t gain from the holidays! Here’s your guide to thriving through the holidays. Sorry for the clickbait. I promise I’ll make this good.
Over the next three months there is a good chance you will be getting together with friends and family to celebrate each of the major holidays that are all right around the corner. Each of the holidays have their separate meanings and celebrations but one thing will be in common…FOOD…lots of delicious and incredible tasting food. Normally most people’s New Year’s resolution is based around losing weight because there’s a high probability over the next three months we’ll gain enough weight to have eater’s remorse and have no other option but to start “dieting” “after the New Year”. Well….. NOT THIS YEAR!!! Let’s talk about how you can survive the holiday eating extravaganza without completely destroying your “goals.”
When most people think about dieting, they think RESTRICTION. “I can’t have this or I can’t have that.” Most of us didn’t like being told what to do when we were children, myself included, and most of us highly dislike being told what to do still to this day. The more you tell me NOT to do something, the more I want to do it. Hence why restricting yourself doesn’t work the greatest.
Here’s my recommendation: for most of us our holiday parties have set dates for when we are getting together with family and friends, which means you can plan head! On the day of the event eat a light breakfast consisting of a healthy protein source and veggies. Drink plenty of water throughout the day. Have a blast at your event and then the first meal after your event (which will most likely be breakfast the following day) have a light meal consisting again of a healthy protein source, veggies, and lots of water. See that wasn’t so hard now, was it? How people get themselves in trouble around the holidays is by partaking in multiple unlimited eating sessions in concession. If you can surround your holiday meals with your normal healthy meals, you’ll have success.
“AFTER THE NEW YEAR”
The statement “I’m starting my diet after the New Year “ will pretty much come out of every humans’ mouth sometime over the next three months. While it’s great to plan for the future this is a giant LIE!!! I’ve done it, you’ve done it, we’ve all done it. The issue with this lie is, well one it’s a lie, but two is the more you tell yourself you’re going to do something and the more times you don’t do the thing you said you would do…it increases your chances of not doing it exponentially! I believe most people use the ole I’ll start after the new year phrase, is because it allows them to be guilt free for eating unlimited quantities of bad food over the next three months (aka uncontrolled eating) and after the new year they’ll start their controlled diet. Not the best plan.
Here’s my recommendation: Understand that it’s ok not to be perfect and its NOT ok to lie t yourself! Figure out the thing you can do, will do, and do that! It doesn’t have to be some big huge accomplishment, you just need to do small things that you can commit to, give yourself a pat on the back, and repeat!
Don’t let the holidays get the best of you this year. Make the last few months of 2018 a strong finish to the year and set yourself up to have the best year yet in 2019. One of the best ways to do this is to have a goal.
My recommendation: Ask yourself these three questions? What do I want? When do I want it by? Am I willing to do the things necessary to get the thing I want? A simple and highly effective way to end the year strong! Want to take it to another level? Tell someone your answers to these three questions so that they can help hold you accountable. Unsure how to answer these questions? Find someone who can give you some guidance on figuring out your best path. Have you set goals before but are concerns with the difficulties that lie ahead? Find someone or multiple someones that will provide you with support along the way!
