Name, age, occupation, city? Amy Grake, once I turned 40 I stopped counting, Registered Nurse, Oakland Township.

Start date at CrossFit Reviver? September 2012

Athletic background? I’ve been running since I came out of the womb, according to my mom.

Favorite and least favorite WOD / movement? Favorite movement: Deadlifts. Favorite WOD: Murph, even though it rendered me crippled for days afterward. Least Favorite: I have a love/hate relationship with the Snatch. I might add, the Airdyne is the tool of the DEVIL!

Greatest accomplishment? Personal, professional and fitness related? Personal: Completing a 150 days of strict bed rest during pregnancy while attempting to maintain my sanity. Professional: Becoming an RN.  Fitness: Qualifying and have the opportunity to run the Boston Marathon.

Has CFR made you better? If so, how? Before CFR I had cardiovascular strength from running, but absolutely no upper body strength. I used to think a gallon of milk was heavy, I can now successfully lift milk and heavier objects!

What are your hobbies? Hanging out with my family and friends, reading, cooking and gardening.

Top 5 favorite TV movies? Elf, Bridesmaids, Pitch Perfect, Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Love Actually.

What is one thing we don’t know about you?  In college I didn’t gain the Freshmen 15, but instead 50lbs. I learned an important lesson though, I must always maintain a proper diet and active lifestyle.

What are your goals in life? Personal, professional and fitness related? Personal and professional overlap: I’m on the back-burner. My kids are my main objective – making sure I mentor them into happy, respectful and well rounded individuals. Fitness: To continue to increase my strength without INJURY.
