Name, age, occupation, city? Adam “Mr. P.” Rauner, 39, Sales – Invisalign, Rochester Hills

Start date at CrossFit Reviver? May 2012.

Athletic background? Basketball, Baseball and Football.

Favorite and least favorite WOD / movement? My least favorite is Overhead Squat. My legendary lack of flexibility makes this movement much more difficult than it should be. I don’t really have one favorite movement. I usually enjoy any workouts that have double unders, running, or pull ups.

Greatest accomplishment? Personal, professional and fitness related? Personal: My family.  I never thought I would be lucky enough to have such a great wife and 3 wonderful boys. Professional: Being able to make numerous Presidents Clubs as a Sales Manager and help get my sales teams there with me. Fitness: I will keep it CrossFit related…when I started the On-Ramp Program I thought I would be a bad ass and try Fran prescribed. Needless to say, it did not go well. About 8 months later I was able to finish it in 3:26.

Has CFR made you better? If so, how? I am definitely better at Olympic lifting. I had never done any type of Olympic lifting at all and it has been fun and challenging to get better at these movements. My favorite part of CFR is the community and people that we have met. Working out has become much more fun instead of something that I needed to get done each day. And it has been great for our family as well. Sarah has gone from someone who hated working out to being as addicted to fitness as I am. And this is a great example for our kids and will help us be active and kicking ass into our 90’s!

What are your hobbies? Lots of basketball, not enough golf and coaching the boys on their journey to college scholarships and professional sports. Also, not wearing sleeves and hitting on Sarah.

Top 5 favorite TV movies? Anchorman, Braveheart, The Dark Knight, Lord of The Rings, Step Brothers.

What is one thing we don’t know about you? Nothing. I pretty much say whatever may come to mind and may be a bit too honest at times. I should get better at that “inner voice” thing.

What are your goals in life? Personal, professional and fitness related?  Spend as much quality time with my family as possible. Try to stay injury free after a rough year on my back. And try to stay in good enough shape to play sports with my kids when they are teenagers and I’m 50.
