Larry Szafran, 47, Medical Sale Representative, Rochester Hills

When did you start at CrossFit Reviver?: December 2016

What is your athletic background?: Hockey and Baseball into high school. I started working out semi-consistently about 12 years ago. Mostly Lifetime Fitness, P90X and jogging.

What is your favorite and least favorite WOD/movement?: My favorite are all of the strength push and pull movements. My least favorite are high intensity cardio movements. I always come out way too hot, and exhaust myself.

What is your great accomplishment? Personal, Professional, and Fitness related:: My greatest personal accomplishment is my family of course. We're not perfect, but we love each other tons and we have a lot adventures ahead. Professionally, I'm proud of the reputation I have, nationally, as one of our best clinical minded representatives. I'm frequently asked to demonstrate my knowledge with large groups. I've also had the opportunity to represent AstraZeneca at some of the largest conferences in the world, including the American Thoracic Society's annual meeting. And, when it comes to fitness, my greatest accomplishment has been my consistent growth since joining Crossfit Reviver.

Has CFR made you better? If yes, how so?: CFR has made me better in many ways. I'm more consistent with my fitness than I've ever been. It's the accountability piece that has made the biggest difference. I schedule classes a week in advance, and the classes show up in my calendar everyday. I have to go to the gym. It's on my calendar. And, aside from being accountable to myself, I feel accountable to my coaches and my friends. CFR has gotten me into the best shape of my life. The well rounded WODs force me to do things I wouldn't do on my own. Also, working out with friends pushes me to a level of discomfort that I would normally fall short of. Lastly, from a mental standpoint, CFR is definitely one of the best hours of my day. It's a great stress reliever, and gives me energy, strength, and self esteem. I love the community. I sincerely respect and adore all of you. Thank you for being so incredibly significant in my life.

What are your hobbies?: Boating, Fishing, Golfing, Hanging with friends, Trying to see all of the lighthouses in Michigan with Sarah

What is one thing we don’t know about you?: I was a childhood actor

What are your goals in life? Personal, Professional, and Fitness related:: LOL. I don't set goals. It's too damn difficult for me. That's not how my mind works. However, the other day I told Sammie and Jeremy that I want to improve my squats.
