Val Feliciano, 29, Seating Engineer, Rochester Hills

When did you start at CrossFit Reviver?: February 2017

What is your athletic background?: I played volleyball in middle school, soccer and softball in high school, yoga and running up until I joined Reviver.

What is your favorite and least favorite WOD/movement?: Favorite movement: definitely double unders :). Least favorite movement: bear crawls (I can’t even!)

What is your great accomplishment? Personal, Professional, and Fitness related:: Personal: moving 3,000 miles away from home (Puerto Rico) to pursue my professional goals. Professional: being able to see all the hard work I put in for over 2 years as the first 2019 RAM 1500 came down the assembly line. Fitness: obviously joining Reviver, but also I’m incredibly proud of running (and finishing!) my first half marathon in 2016 (Detroit Free Press)

Has CFR made you better? If yes, how so?: ABSOLUTELY!! 110% Reviver has helped me gain confidence in myself, confidence I never thought I would feel. I’ve definitely learned to listen to my body as I become more in tune with it. One of the greatest things CrossFit ReviveR has given me has been an amazing support system, almost an extended family that I get to hang out with, joke around and yes, workout with every day. Saving the best for last I’ve met my best friends at the gym, a fierce group of strong, smart, beautiful women. We lift each other up, encourage one another and are always there for each other. Joining ReviveR saved my life when I was going through incredibly rough times. I am forever grateful.

What are your hobbies?: Traveling, reading, cooking, cake decorating and shopping for things I really don’t need on Amazon (thanks Amazon Prime!)

What are your Top 5 favorite movies?: Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Frances Ha, Pretty in Pink, 13 Going on 30, and The Princess Diaries.

What is one thing we don’t know about you?: I’m a twin! My twin sister lives in Puerto Rico and is a lawyer.

What are your goals in life? Personal, Professional, and Fitness related:: Personal: I want to have a family of my own one day. Professional: I want to keep learning and growing so that I can help lead others. Fitness related: I really, really, really want to be able to do a strict pull-up (at least one!)
